We have relied on his restaurant since it opened a couple of years ago for family get-togethers and special night outs, and rarely been disappointed. The daytime offer is limited to brunch, snack, and cafe choices, but these are well prepared…. [31 October 2012]

Giles Coren reviews Homa, London N16
The waiters were efficient, knowledgeable and thoughtful. And the food… ah yes, the food. Now, I had an excellent artichoke and almond soup, mild and well mannered, and then venison with a juniper sauce on wet polenta, mild again…There was ‘seared N16 smoked salmon’...and there was excellent tagliolini with crab, and peppardelle with porcini… Everything was hot, fresh, delicious and not overpriced.

Come dessert, we were having a lovely time. Lemon polenta cake, torn up and tossed among strawberries, was a dewy meadow (£6.50); crème fraîche pannacotta with raspberries (£5.50) came over all innocent and milky but we knew better. Homa proves a little ambition needn’t come at the expense of local charm. (16-Sep-10)

Homa’s relaxed Italian dining and upmarket, classic brunch makes it a firm local favourite on Stoke Newington’s Church Street. Buggies and families are very much in the majority in a space where reclaimed wooden furniture and wine stacked in old, open wardrobes evoke a funky family dining room.

Newly opened, nicely decorated and an interesting and very well cooked menu. If Homa keep these standards up they could be looking at the title of best place to eat on Church Street.

I’ve been desperately looking for good breakfast options in Islington and Stoke Newington… Homa is the best I have found so far. Lovely, intelligent, light food, nice decor, great coffee…and all within a 5 minute cycle of home. Yee ha!
